Summary: The purpose of this research is to explore the social support that adolescents in the process of social reintegration receive and perceive through their closest support network. The sample is made up of 30 teenage girls between the ages of 14 and 20 who are inmates at a women's drug rehabilitation centre, in Colima, Mexico, where judicial measures are being carried out. The study’s result report low levels of social support perceived by internal adolescents as the one they receive from the most significant people in their context. It also shows that the social support perceived is higher than the received and that the number of antisocial or transgressive behaviours is lower in adolescent girls. Finally, the discussion and implications of these results for the reintegration processes are raised.
