Summary: This study aims to identify the internal and external factors that influence the competitiveness of SMEs in the Lazaro Cárdenas Michoacán grocery sector, since competitiveness is an increasingly important aspect in the business sector, which derives from the demands of the current economic environment framed in the process of globalization. The development of the private sector, and in particular of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), is of great importance, since the internal factors of these are: Strategic planning, human capital, innovation, productivity, systems of Information and quality assurance are crucial for them to make efficient use of their resources and reach high levels of productivity and competitiveness.
