Summary: The digitisation of the economy is bringing about a major change in labour relations, the effects on wages and the type of employment being particularly notable. In addition, the economic effects of robotisation must be borne in mind, since this process is much more than a trade-off between labour and machines. In this way it is necessary to know how the new economic scenario will affect productivity, its influence on the cost of production, the potential creation of new professions, the replacement of workers by capital and the polarization of wages. Moreover, unlike other economic revolutions, these effects are not confined to a particular sector or country, but affect the whole world as a result of economic globalization. This is leading to a further dualisation of the labour market which requires that public social partners, employers and workers prepare for this new scenario and can anticipate all that the new economic model entails
