Summary: The electoral process of June 2019 in Guatemala, as a result of the 2015 crisis, takes place within a context of lack of credibility concerning political leadership and lack of legitimacy of the institutions. In this context, the article analyzes the key role of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal in the implementation of reforms to the electoral norm and political parties, which were approved in 2016, particularly regarding the control and supervision of party finances and campaign expenses as well as equal allocation of slots in mass media
