In recent years, new therapeutic approaches have been proposed for the treatment of complex trauma in populations such as refugees and asylum seekers that try to adapt to the characteris-tics and specific circumstances of these populations, in particular to their difficulties of access to psychological treatment and the accumulation of traumatic events. Among them figure the Narrative Exposure Therapy (TEN), as well as its versions, named STAIR, for people who have suffered adversity in childhood, and FORNET, for military population with high levels of ag-gressiveness. The objective of this work is to carry out a systematic review of studies that assess the effectiveness of TEN and its two versions for the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in adults. The review includes a total of 21 studies published between 2000 and 2018. The results show that TEN and its modalities are effective in reducing post-traumatic symptoma-tology in a brief set of sessions. The results are less conclusive regarding the decrease in depressive symptoms. In addition, drop-out rates for treatment are low. The clinical implications of the results are discussed.

The clinical implications of the results are discussed.En los últimos años se han planteado nuevos acercamientos terapéuticos para el tra-tamiento del trauma complejo en poblaciones como los refugiados y solicitantes de asilo, que intentan adaptarse a las características y circunstancias específicas de estas poblaciones, en particular a la dificultad de accesibilidad a un tratamiento psicológico y a la acumulación de acontecimientos traumáticos. Entre ellos figura la Terapia de Exposición Narrativa (TEN), así como sus versiones, STAIR para personas que han sufrido adversidades en la infancia, y FORNET para población militar con altos niveles de agresividad. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar una revisión sistemática de estudios que valoren la eficacia de la TEN y sus dos versiones para el tratamiento del Trastorno de Estrés Postraumático (TEPT) en adultos. La revisión recoge un total de 21 estudios publicados entre 2000 y 2018. Los resultados muestran que la TEN y sus diferentes modalidades son eficaces para disminuir la sintomato-logía postraumática en un conjunto breve de sesiones. Los resultados son menos concluyentes respecto a la disminución de la sintomatología depresiva. Además, las tasas de abandono del tratamiento son bajas.
