For this reason, when the parliamentarian immunity is removed, the deputy or senator is suspended of his parliamentary position, and the criminal process system recognizes him the right to expeditiously criminal trial.Este comentario sintetiza la doctrina jurisprudencial sobre un aspecto novedoso del proceso penal chileno, que reconoce a los parlamentarios que hayan perdido su fuero, el derecho al juicio penal de manera pronta y expedita. Lo anterior se explica como un privilegio para proteger la representatividad democrática, que puede ser modificada por la actuación del Ministerio Público.
