Summary: The social climate in prison is a key indicator for managing and determining the conditions of life in prison. Thus, prisons that show an ethical and safe social climate will have a more positive influence on rehabilitation than centers where the social environment is more harmful. This research uses the questionnaire measuring quality of prison life (MQPL) to specify the perception about quality of life in inmates at solitary confinement. The results show that variables related to humanity and dignity in treatment, with personal development and well-being as well as with the professionalism of each center, will cause differences in the perception of quality of life between prisons.
