Summary: This paper aims to analyze the process of Venezuela's accession to the Southern Common Market and its consequences, including the current suspension of the Bolivarian State membership, through the collection of documents, news and specialized academic sources. The work considers the possible legal effects of the current scenario in terms public international law, particularly the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties of 1969, given the hypothesis that Venezuela might forfeit its status as a State Party to the regional block.
