Historical Perspective of the Metaphor of the Legal Concept of Person. Etymology and Ideas in AntiquityPerspectiva histórica da metáfora do conceito jurídico de pessoa. Etimologia e ideias na AntiguidadeThis paper deals with how the legal concept of person is built on an old metaphor related to the theatrical mask —the performance of a role—, and the various interpretations of this notion in Western antiquity and at which other philosophical conceptions have arrived today. Particularly, the objective is to point out that the word is not clear and that, if it is currently linked to the idea of humanity and certain demands, it is due to the semantic evolution of the term.
