This disposition, although apparently simple, has a wide and deep range of implications, questionings and possibilities for investigation, especially as it involves an extremely delicate relationship. A perfect combination of law and sacrament, the "ius connubii", in its close relationship with the constitution of the family, which is the sanctuary of Love, is an important problem, which faces the legislator, both in the legislation of the State, specifically in Civil Law, and in that of the Church. As the general principle of the canonical matrimonial system, "ius connubii' is the source of interpretation of all rules concerning matrimony, especially when it comes to the distinction between sacramental reality and liturgical ceremony. This is the fact, which is the basis of our reflections.O Código de Direito Canônico, disciplinando, no Cân. 1058, o ius connubii, dispõe: “Podem contrair matrimônio todos os que não são proibidos pelo direito”. O dispositivo, aparentemente simples, reserva um amplo e profundo conjunto de implicações, de questionamentos e de possibilidades de investigação, especialmente por envolver relações de extrema delicadeza. Combinação perfeita de direito e sacramento, o ius connubii, em sua estreita relação com a constituição da família, santuário do Amor, é importante problema que se impõe ao legislador, tanto na legislação do Estado, especificamente em Direito Civil, quanto na legislação da Igreja. Como princípio geral do sistema matrimonial canônico, o ius connubii é fonte de interpretação de todas as normas referentes ao matrimônio, especialmente quanto à distinção entre a realidade sacramental e a celebração litúrgica.
