Environmental certification in Brazil has grown significantly in recent years, especially in the face of current environmental tragedies. This study intends to demonstrate that most of the certifications seek to maximize profit rather than effective environmental protection. Therefore, there must be a paradigm change on environmental compliance, so that environmental certification is ensured by effective methods.
