Summary: This paper aims to analyze the concept of heteronormativity in the light of the Rawlsian concepts of pluralism and the liberalprinciple of tolerance. As a social order, the heteronormativity assumes that heterosexuality is the only sexual orientationand establishes a design of social life and reduces the possibilities the equal treatment of individuals. It also proposes a legal normativity that privileges only one way of life and argues the alignmentof biological sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Supposing the fact of the pluralism, the conclusion will argue that liberal principle of tolerance will be able tosupport a social diversity. Beyond it promotes a plural society; the liberal principle of tolerance can reduce the inequality based on the heteronormativity.
