Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer was considered the founder of the University of Navara and Piura. Since his death in 1975 until now, universities have emerged in different countries that have been highly inspired by the ideal of University in San Josemaría. One of the main features of these institutions is the love of freedom by the authorities and professors offering university studies and research that help to consolidate a solidary society that seeks, loves and acts according to the truth. His university legal studies led him to consolidate the legal path of Opus Dei and to develop a legal prudence that helped consolidate the foundation of the University of Navarra.
