Summary: The present study aims to describe the grey areas the Labour Market’s reform has brought along. To this end, the first steps taken, them being the social dialogue that has taken place amongst the Government and both sides of industry, has been put in context. Accordingly, we also find a review of the meaning of Social Dialogue in Spain. From there, we take on to the main measures adopted through the reform, which are taken into effect through the Real Decretoley 5/2006, and the Law 43/2006, aimed at encouraging long term employment, the rationalisation of temporary contracts, protection of workers from the lack of employment opportunities, and to push forward active policies for employment.
