Summary: Agribusiness has been stood out as one of the activities that are most developed in the country, despite the economic crisis that Brazil faces. However, the need for development of the sector must be associated with the guarantee of the rights of the rural workers. Thus, it can be seen that the existing legislation on labor relations in the countryside is archaic and prior to the 1988 Constitution, which creates great legal uncertainty for the employer and the employee. In which case, the profile of the Brazilian rural worker and the changes proposed for the sector in the labor reform are carefully examined in order to guarantee greater legal security and efficiency. For this, the deductive method and bibliographic research are used.
