Summary: With the issuance of the Decree Law 2811 of 1974, current Code of Renewable Natural Resources, great importance was attached to everything that has to do with the conservation of Renewable Natural Resources and Environment, society-nature relationship in conservation of the same, the regulation on the supply of natural resources and the control and management in the resulting impacts on different projects, works or activities. This decree established the need to obtain environmental licenses, permits, concessions and authorizations that the Colombian legislation has changed substantially over the last 23 years, after the enactment of Law 99 of 1993, mainly in its title VIII where it refers to the subject environmental licenses, which have been permanently modified in subsequent Environmental Regulations.
