The accelerated growth of urbanization has changed the urban logic, opening up possibilities for thousands of people who reach the big metropolis in order to access goods and services. However, the rise of economic development in the country, characterized by concentrating income and power, are incorporated city models that tend to segregate, exclude and modifying environments and thus people. Cities go from being perceived as spaces and opportunities for social change, to become engines of economic development, no longer serving the citizens, but the market. These new logics imply the transformation of cities from the execution of urban development projects, which will ultimately require the modification of spaces occupied by human settlements, and with it, the need to be resettled, with high risks of not having the right to adequate housing. This article presents the issues within the three approaches, concluding on the need to implement a human rights approach, which allows measures of protection and security for people and vulnerable in the context of all these processes groups. |
