Summary: The work analyzes the autonomic benefits of guarantee of subsistence resources and its role within the protection assistance framework. A space that shares with the non-contributory pensions of retirement and disability and with the protection for unemployment care in its different levels of coverage. Although all respond to the objective of guaranteeing resources to those who do not have them, there are notable differences among them that explain and justify the role they play within the guarantee system of minimum income guarantees. Clarifying, then, the elements that define the autonomic benefits and delimit their contours with respect to the rest of the assistance, especially with unemployment, is the objective of this study. And all this taking into account the different regional regulations that have been submitted in recent years, in most of the Autonomous Communities, to a notable revision. What has caused, in different cases, a greater distancing of their benefits from unemployment as they have accentuated their essential role as a guarantee of subsistence resources; at the same time, they have displaced the traditional idea of considering employment as the key instrument in the socialization of the individual towards processes of social insertion.
