Summary: This article shows the results of the critical discourse analysis carried out to 42 classical and contemporary books on international relations and the importance of human rights. It is an analysis of the academic discourse that proves human rights are not central item of the internationalist theory. For this reason, it argues that there is neither epistemological nor ontological change in the internationalist texts that tries to overcome the State-centric approach of the discipline.
