Sumario: This article deals with the Constitutional and revolutionary process in Portugal, which began with the fall of the Salazarist dictatorship. The text highlights particularly how the tensions born in the core of the dictatorship influenced the making of the new Constitution. The text also tries to explain the nature, deficiencies and characteristics particular to the process, under the democratic theory.
