Summary: Live a process of digitization of the economy. New forms of employment related to the use of technology and artificial intelligence have an increasing importance and an extraordinary future projection. There are many questions raised by this new productive reality to a social protection scheme built around the salaried work. ‘Partners’ digital platforms workers are self-employed or are self-employed? Could it serve the TRADE figure to provide a suitable for this type of professional guardianship? It is clear that this phenomenon shakes categories and classical institutions of the labor law and confront us with the need to respond to professional realities that surpass in some respects activities protection schemes, in part, of the past. But surely the real challenge is the adjustment of working time and the risk of ‘ordinary’ remuneration which is not enough even for basic needs. Based on these considerations, work deals with aspects - so far rather neglected by the doctrine-the projection of these new forms of activity, labour-related or not, in the framework on Social Security in the future benefits and in the own financial sustainability of the system. It is noted that the emergence of the economy from digital platforms is a great new challenge for a protection model based on the contributory logic and which should be facing with a greater involvement of the State through the strengthening of the mechanisms of solidarity
