Next, we take care of developing the support system in the exercise of legal capacity and its reception in the Civil and Commercial Code.En este artículo se describen los modelos tradicionales de tratamiento de las personas con discapacidad que han imperado a lo largo de la historia; el modelo de prescindencia y el modelo médico-rehabilitador y la recepción que tuviera este último en el Código Civil. Luego se analiza la propuesta del modelo social o de barreras sociales que tiene plasmación en la Convención sobre los Derechos de las Personas con Discapacidad y las multiplicidad de formas de apoyo que han sido previstas atendiendo la diversidad de personas con discapacidad.
