The presentation will focus on responding to the fundamental issue
of whether religious freedom and freedom of expression are irreconcilable
freedoms. There can be no genuine religious freedom without inter-faith dialogue based
on freedom of expression on a particular topic. Attacks are never part of a mindset
that is open to dialogue, they are confrontational and intended to reinforce a
stance understood as closed and excluding. Inter-faith dialogue is the most favourable environment for listening and
learning from the diversity that springs from the immense wealth of the act of
creation. |
