Provided that new services are of the same nature as the traditional ones, they should be subject to the same regulation. On the contrary, if new services had differential distinctive features, it would not be justified to apply them the regulations of traditional services. In some cases, their specific features may require sector-specific regulation or, at least, the adaptation of the general legal framework. Finally, it could be the case that new services substantially alter the basis on which the regulation was based, which could advise the deregulation of the concerned sectorEn la mayor parte de los casos, la llamada economía colaborativa da lugar a actividades económicas de prestación de servicios. En cuanto tal, se sujeta a las normas generales por las que se rige cualquier actividad económica. La experiencia indica que la mayor parte de los servicios requieren también algún tipo de regulación específica. Además, si se concluye que los nuevos servicios tienen la misma naturaleza que los tradicionales, deben estar sujetos a la misma regulación. En cambio, si estos servicios presentasen rasgos diferenciales, no estaría justificado aplicarles la normativa de los servicios tradicionales. En algunos casos, sus peculiaridades podrían requerir una regulación específica o, cuanto menos, la adaptación del régimen jurídico anterior.
