Laburpena: The progress of genetics in regard to their practical application in the field of health has given rise to new possibilities in the fight against disease, especially from the perspective of early diagnosis or prediction. Such new possibilities have many benefits but also pose new ethical and legal dilemmas. Among these are those that arise in respect of directto-consumers genetic test that seem to promote greater empowerment of citizens in health information. However, under such alleged seizure they not really hide autonomous decisions by the absence of reliable information on the validity and clinical utility of such tests.
