This reflective article tries to analyze the processes, dynamics and actions that constitute the political thought of the "Indio" Manuel Quintín Lame and their relation through the decolonial turn. It is part of the reflection of two central texts of this thinker: the first, "in defense of my race" and the second "thought of the Indian who was educated within the Colombian jungles" said works represent a substantial part in the thinking of One of the most important indigenous leaders of the 20th century in Colombia. For this reason, we start by recognizing that the praxis from the set of ideas, actions and speeches of Quintín Lame was a fundamental piece in the territory, organizational and vindictive consolidation that is found within the indigenous communities in Tolima. The applied methodology consists of: extensive documentary analysis, review and theoretical reflection related to the decolonial perspective and its link with Latin American indigenous movements. As a result, Quintín Lame's political thought is an important component in the constitution of the Tolima indigenous movement, and has a great representation with the phenomenon of the "indigenous struggle" in Colombia.

Se parte de la reflexión de dos textos centrales de este pensador: el primero, “en defensa de mi raza” y el segundo “los pensamiento del Indio que se educó dentro de las selvas colombianas” dichas obras representan una parte sustancial en el pensamiento de uno de los más importantes líderes indígenas el siglo XX en Colombia. Por ello, partimos de reconocer que la praxis proveniente del conjunto de ideas, acciones y discursos de Quintín Lame fue una pieza fundamental en la consolidación territorial, organizativa y reivindicativa, que se encuentra al interior de las comunidades indígenas en el Tolima. La metodología aplicada consiste en: el análisis documental extenso, la revisión y reflexión teórica relacionada con la perspectiva decolonial y su vinculación con los movimientos indígenas latinoamericanos. Llegando al punto de encontrar como resultado que el pensamiento político de Quintín Lame, es un componente importante en la constitución del movimiento indígena del Tolima, y tiene gran representación con el fenómeno de la “lucha indigenista” en Colombia.O presente artigo de reflexão pretende analisar os processos, dinâmicas e acções que constituem o pensamento do “índio” Manuel Quintín Lame e a sua relação através da volta descolonial. O ponto de partida da reflexão são dois textos centrais deste pensador: O primeiro, “em defesa da minha raça” e o segundo, “os pensamentos do índio educado no coração das selvas colombianas”; são obras que representam uma parte substancial do pensamento de um dos mais importantes líderes indígenas do século XX, na Colômbia. A partir do seu pensamento reconhecemos que a praxis proveniente do conjunto de ideias, acções e discursos de Quintín Lame foi uma peça fundamental da consolidação territorial, organizativa e reivindicativa que, se encontra no seio das comunidades indígenas de Tolima. A metodologia aplicada consiste em: na análise documental abrangente, na revisão e reflexão teórica relacionada com a perspectiva descolonial e na sua vinculação aos movimentos indígenas latino-americanos.
