Summary: The International Environmental Law presents a dynamic, multidimensional and autonomous characteristic, as it represents a differentiated evolution in time and space, based on a specific purpose of protecting the environment in its global dimension, with its own purpose, regulatory means and peculiar normative production. This article, which used the deductive method, through bibliographical and documentary research, aims to analyze the need to rethink the work of the legal and social sciences in the wake of international action, as well as to develop and strengthen legal alternatives for solving global complex problems, from the possible contributions of the Post Normal Science theory. The conclusion of the work recognizes the need for the development and improvement of techniques that can lead to the resolution of the problems of the 21st century, linking the most diverse scientific areas under the guidance of governance, in the hope of a more efficient evolution of the problems.
