Summary: The widespread growth of mobile devices, alongside the expansion of the Internet coverage in Costa Rica, has generated new social traits inherently attached to the new digital scenarios imposed by these devices. Politics does not escape this and, to the contrary, is one of the main areas where citizens turn to express, debate and organize themselves in the face of electoral processes. This article exposes the way in which the presidential campaign was carried out in the digital platform Facebook, and its parallel narrative with traditional campaigning. The latter is done through quantitative and qualitative analyses on user behavior, support trends and a comparison of the offline campaign as perceived by traditional media, mainly opinion polls
