On the one hand, it is to examine the concept of identity in the hermeneutics of Ricoeur and the role of otherness in the constitution of the identity of the subject as oneself. And secondly, we analyze the central concepts of ethics Ricoeur whose philosophical argument will be developed in three stages. This argumentative way achieve integrate two ethical paradigms (teleological ethics and deontological ethics), and allow us to describe their ethics based on three themes: the priority of recognition in the ethics of Ricoeur, the meanings of the notion of recognition and justice as aim of ethics, which in turn is mediated by creating universal in context. Through this analysis, we show that justice is conditioned by the recognition of the other and dialogue in its ethical proposal.Este artículo pretende mostrar que el reconocimiento y la justicia son principios fundamentales en la ética de Paul Ricoeur que presenta en su libro Sí mismo como otro. Por un lado, se trata de examinar la concepción de identidad en la hermenéutica de Ricoeur y el papel que juega la alteridad en la constitución de la identidad del sujeto como sí mismo. Y, por otro lado, pretendemos estudiar los conceptos centrales de la ética de Ricoeur, cuya argumentación filosófica se desarrollará en tres momentos. Este camino argumentativo logrará integrar dos paradigmas éticos (la ética teleológica y la ética deontológica), y nos permitirá describir su ética con base en tres temáticas: la prioridad del reconocimiento en la ética de Ricoeur, las acepciones de la noción de reconocimiento y la justicia como objetivo de la ética, la cual a su vez estará mediada por la creación de universales en contexto.
