Attempts to strengthen energy security in Europe have gone through the development of new energy corridors to facilitate access to new gas supplies, despite some partial success, this has been affected by the same dynamics that affect energy geopolitics in the Eurasian context. This situation can be improved by the possibilities of gas supply offer of the Spanish and Iranian axes. Spain, with its infrastructure and position can contribute to the supply of liquefied natural gas to Europe. Iran, on the other hand, and thanks to the new political context, can resurrect some of the major projects on diversification pursued for years by the European Union.La alta dependencia exterior en materia energética de la Unión Europea y especialmente del gas ruso, junto con las frecuentes crisis surgidas en el este de Europa y especialmente tras la crisis que desde 2014 se vive entre Rusia y Ucrania, han hecho evidente las excesivas vulnerabilidades energéticas y también políticas de la Unión Europea. Los intentos para reforzar la seguridad energética en Europa han pasado por el desarrollo de correderos energéticos que favorezcan el acceso a nuevos abastecimientos de gas. A pesar de algún éxito muy parcial, éstos se han visto afectados por las dinámicas que afectan a la geopolítica energética en el contexto euroasiático. Esta situación puede mejorar gracias a las posibilidades que en materia de aprovisionamiento de gas ofrecen los ejes español e iraní. España, gracias a su infraestructura y posición puede contribuir al suministro de gas natural liquidado a Europa.
