Though considered a rather descriptive concept, it is useful to understand the nature of normative conflict situations the author refers to as "anomic space".El concepto de Anomia pertenece a la tradición sociológica y significa ausencia permanente de normas. El concepto, introducido por Durkheim, fue desarrollado por la sociología norteamericana para estudios de control social, desviación, delito y criminalidad. Al tomar un nuevo aire en los años 80, fue exhaustivamente estudiado y algunas situaciones contemporáneas lo han puesto de nuevo en escena.
