Summary: In this text we shall examine the overview of the Spanish transition to democracy offered by the Anglo-North American writers during the 1970s and 1980s. The importance of this external angle lies in two circumstances: its pioneering character in the historiography of the topic, and the fact of having provided this subject with a stable and reliable interpretation.
