description
This article presents a reflection on the effects of job insecurity (multidimensional, always) has on youth transitions to adulthood is done, breaking the old standard linear and cumulative trajectory, thereby generating labyrinthine fragmented, random, chaotic … transitional forms even that they tend to have delays or blockages in the acquisition of adult status (read: full citizenship). These irregular paths, however, live (even in the sense of sharing home) with linear narratives (consistent races), embodied in the figure of the parents (or even grandparents) of today’s youth. The reality of job insecurity and discontinuous paths through atypical forms of work strikes a family socialization which takes its reference linearity and coherent, orderly, annuities, their life pattern races. This clash, which has another flat in the confrontation between expectations of social mobility (or classing) and reality of “transitional failure” appears for both young people themselves and their families. The different types of routes, increasingly erratic for an equally growing majority of young people, by the margins of the labor market draw, so vital staple, away from the gold standard to which parents have tried to steer their children paths. We are witnessing, therefore, a conflict or a contradiction, cultural between generations, appearing the image of career as “survival” of another social model, image (desire) that will have an impact on the identity construction of young people. We conclude discussing the possibility of not find ourselves before a timely phenomenon debtor of the current crisis, but to a new standard configuration identity “tentative”, linked to the instability of the media that traditionally allowed the stabilization of the individual independently of their family of origin.

We conclude discussing the possibility of not find ourselves before a timely phenomenon debtor of the current crisis, but to a new standard configuration identity “tentative”, linked to the instability of the media that traditionally allowed the stabilization of the individual independently of their family of origin.
