Summary: It presents the data on the situation in Argentina concerning the extent of polarization of its party system as well as the ideological dispersion of its parliamentary elites. In order to do that, it analyzes the data of the Parliamentary Elites Survey of the University of Salamanca corresponding to the 2004 and 2008 legislatures, that is, the legislators elected for the 2001-2005/2003-2007 and 2005- 2009/2007-2011 terms. On the other hand, it presents the behaviors of Congress members regarding the vote on the most controversial bills in the last three years, focusing on how the support has been distributed among the relevant opposition parties and the governing party in every instance. Finally, it addresses the issue regarding the extent in which the citizens have reacted in a polarized manner to the main conflicts that emerged during the term of President Cristina Kirchner.
