They make a state of the art of the available technical tools to improve the existing building stock, and prove through a study of a refurbished social housing block, that the technical and economic dimensions must be further researched since building renovations may not be producing the expected reduction of green house gas emissions and costs.En este artículo los autores demuestran que España está lejos de cumplir con sus compromisos internacionales en relación al problema del cambio climático en el sector de la edificación, y analizan cómo la normativa ha tenido una influencia en esto y cómo la rehabilitación del parque edificado es una parte esencial para poder conseguirlo.
