In the last years, the city of Zaragoza has been scenario of some
innovative formulas of management to promote private refurbishment in the residential
sector. The analysis of this formulas can be used to reflect the general characteristics of
the Spanish model used and also to prove the needs of investigation in exploring new
models of management under the new legislative and economic frames allowing the
existing city an opportunity to recycle it self. An opportunity not only for economic and
