The research is based on studies doctrinal, historical, and social, a view that child labor has as one of its determinants of structural constraints imposed by a pattern of economic growth in the pursuit of meeting the economic needs of the family, being he used as a survival strategy. However, the working conditions offered to teens in many cases are poor and causes damage to the emotional, intellectual and physical and mental. The work focuses on the damage to the mental health of children and young workers, which brings the conclusion that child labor in many cases violates human dignity, seeing in him one of the most perverse of human labor, understood as slavery in the contemporary world.O presente artigo tem como objetivo fazer uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a questão do trabalho infantil e seus impactos aos danos à saúde mental de crianças e adolescentes, que em muitos casos torna inviável uma vida digna. Corrompendo com isso o interesse superior da criança, como principio regulador da normativa internacional referente aos direitos humanos da criança, para garantia da dignidade humana. A pesquisa fundamenta-se na intersetorialidade entre os estudos doutrinários, jurisprudenciais, históricos, e sociais, numa visão de que o trabalho infantil tem como um de seus fatores determinantes as dificuldades estruturais impostas por um padrão de crescimento econômico, na busca da satisfação das necessidades econômicas imediatas da família, sendo ele utilizado como estratégia de sobrevivência. Entretanto, as condições de trabalho oferecidas para os adolescentes em muitos casos são precárias e acarreta danos ao desenvolvimento emocional, intelectual e físico, mental e social.
