Summary: This paper is a brief reflection on the fundamentals and importance of Latin American philosophical thought for education. The interpretations are directed to the specific issues in Latin America and their cultural identity seeking pedagogical implications in order to collaborate in examining our social practices. We seek to clarify some categories that we consider central grounded in nationalist view of the authors Leopoldo Zea and Rodolfo Kusch because of its relevance to reflection and debate in Latin America taking into account the educational and critical dimension. Bringing up the examination of these authors indicate the need to (re) foundation of educational thought which take into account the categories listed by them that certainly would help us to reflect a Latin American horizon. Thus, we believe that the meaning of "being" of Kusch, helps us understand that we are not simply reflecting the Latin American education with European look about our problems! Do not just want to be Hispanic, you must be in Latin America, experienced the profound meaning of our people , of our own struggles and education
