The Urban Squads are an association of neighbours that since 2003 work in the city of Cajamarca. They were formed in order to prevent a variety of crimes, however over
time increasaing their strength and credibility over the people, for this, up to and including now, are dedicated to resolve squanders between citizens, becoming a kind of unofficial
justice. This paper takes up its appearance and development.
Besides, it shows its present activities and the problems with official justice. So as to achieve it, we use the qualitative methodology, interviews and discourse analysis. |
