Summary: The purpose of this study is to investigate and explain the evolution of the concept of crimes against religion and cult through the indicated period, taking into account the legal interest aimed to protect. We begin with the description of the issue in the mid-nineteenth to highlight the laicization that occurs in this field since the beginning of the codification of criminal law, by analyzing both the projects and the sanctioned codes, and the legal bases considered by the jurist who participated.
