Prevención situacional en el programa de convivencia y seguridad ciudadana para el municipio de aguascalientes

This scientific work aims to sustain the utility that has situational prevention implementation in a given space and expose the experience gained in my activity as a criminologist and public servant in the municipality of Aguascalientes. It is fair to comment that it is not intended to convince that situational prevention is a panacea that magically solves the problem of the antisociality. Situational prevention seeks to decrease the chance that people have to commit antisocial, criminal or violent conduct and promote citizen integration through the strengthening of confidence in the environment where they operate. Situational prevention is based on the use of space by citizenship and active participation and healthy seizure of the community, in social terms, in their own environment. Its purpose can be summed up in two major points: safer urban spaces and improve the perception that the population may have the security in your environment, aspects which commonly are related but are not synonymous. Due to its insufficient study and implementation, situational prevention, little is known, however, it can be seen as a prevention model that allows the achievement of important results.

Due to its insufficient study and implementation, situational prevention, little is known, however, it can be seen as a prevention model that allows the achievement of important results.El presente trabajo científico pretende sustentar la utilidad que tiene la implementación de la prevención situacional en un espacio determinado y exponer la experiencia obtenida en mi actividad como criminólogo y servidor público en el municipio de Aguascalientes. Es justo comentar que no se pretende convencer de que la prevención situacional sea una panacea que resuelva mágicamente el problema de la antisocialidad. La prevención situacional pretende la disminución de la oportunidad que tienen las personas para cometer conductas antisociales, delictivas o violentas y fomentar la integración ciudadana a través del fortalecimiento de la confianza en el medio donde se desenvuelven. La prevención situacional se sustenta en el aprovechamiento del espacio por parte de la ciudadanía y en la participación activa y el apoderamiento saludable de la comunidad, en términos sociales, de su propio entorno. Su finalidad puede resumirse en dos grandes puntos: espacios urbanos más seguros y mejorar la precepción que la población pueda tener de la seguridad en su entorno, aspectos que comúnmente se relacionan pero que no son sinónimos.
