In addition, this paper also outlines how the constitutional experience in the Nueva Granada ended in virtue of the Spanish reconquest, and criticizes the pejorative view of this period that was promoted a few years later.El presente escrito describe los procesos sociales y políticos que rodearon la expedición de la Constitución antioqueña de 1815 y, con base en ellos, se ofrece una interpretación que le permita al lector comprender por qué el constituyente en vez de expedir un acto de reforma de la Constitución de 1812 prefirió reexpedirla con cambios muy puntuales.
