Women who consider maternity is not only biological attachment and think that emotional attachment is the most important could accept egg donation in a good way. Also, this work explores the future consequences in family environment related to egg donation. We focus on the debate about to tell or not to tell people who were borned through egg donation. In recent years, there is more openness about this topic, even health professionals suggest to avoid maintain the secret in future and tell children about their conception.En el presente trabajo abordamos el impacto emocional que puede generar en una pareja el que se les plantee la alternativa de hacer un tratamiento de fertilidad con óvulos donados. Muchas mujeres pasan por un “duelo genético” antes de poder aceptar esta alternativa. Ese tiempo para procesar y reflexionar es importante para tomar una adecuada decisión, en la que sobretodo se tome en cuenta las emociones de la paciente. Además, se plantea que si para la mujer la maternidad se basa en un vínculo de afecto más que genético, es viable seguir este tratamiento. Asimismo, en este artículo abordamos las implicancias futuras que puede tener el llevar a cabo un tratamiento de fertilidad con ovodonación principalmente a nivel familiar. Así, nos centramos en el debate que existe en la actualidad acerca de revelar o no la historia de origen a los hijos nacidos por tratamiento con óvulos donados.
