Information technologies and communications are an important tool to economic and social development. An ever growing portion of national governments should focus on the formulation of public policy and strategies for digital inclusion, aimed at improving access to information and its use. Thus, the need to have both a domestic policy in line with global trends and a public administration that guarantees the use of transversal and transparent processes with the right tools for government interaction. However, the establishment of social media in the means to help improve the quality of life for citizens and local sustainable development has become equally important.La masificación y efectivo aprovechamiento de las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones –TIC– son hoy herramientas fundamentales para el desarrollo económico y social. Los gobiernos nacionales deben concentrarse en la formulación de políticas públicas de inclusión digital tendientes a mejorar el uso de la información. Surge entonces la necesidad de tener una política doméstica acorde con las tendencias globales y con una administración pública garante de los procesos transversales y transparentes con herramientas para la interacción gubernamental.
