Of these 18.2% enterprises presents information that identifies the costs of environmental protection, properly implemented its environmental management system, managed internal certifications - external, and are the industry's largest companies. 81.82% while only accounting information presented, managed internal certifications, are considered medium or small enterprises and lack implement its environmental management system. These data indicated the need to design a qualitative procedure that helps them identify environmental costs arising as a result of production processes and their environmental impact, with the main objective of this paper present the procedureLa problemática medioambiental implica desafíos importantes para la profesión contable. Las empresas pesqueras no escapan de este contexto por la contaminación que generan sus procesos productivos. De una encuesta a 33 representantes del área contable de este sector se pudo conocer que el 55% se ubica en Chimbote, 24% en Santa, 12% en Coishco, 3% en nuevo Chimbote, 3% en Samanco y 3% en Casma. De estas empresas el 18,2% presenta información que identifica a los costos de defensa del medio ambiente, implementó adecuadamente su sistema de gestión ambiental, logró certificaciones internas-externas y son las empresas más grandes del sector, mientras que el 81,82% solo presenta información contable, logró certificaciones internas, corresponde a empresas consideradas medianas o pequeñas, a las que les falta implementar su sistema de gestión ambiental.
