What are the institutional conditions able to narrow the nexus between electors’ preferences and representative choices in public policies? What institutional features are determinants of accountability increase and higher democracy quality? This paper aims at doing a bibliographical review of the Political Science literature that intends to answer these questions, based on the epistemological debate of the democratic method, from classical conceptions to the contemporary theory.
