Focusing on the compulsory registration as a key element of professional bodies, a review of the constitutional case-law leads to the conclusion that there is no open contradiction between the European regulation and the constitutional norm, but reveals some interesting issues regarding the specific relationships between constitutional and European legal systems. KEY WORDS: Professional bodies; Services Directive; European Law; preliminary question.El proceso de transposición de la polémica Directiva de Servicios, en cuanto que incluye en su ámbito las actividades profesionales, invita a volver sobre el sentido y alcance con que la Constitución española, con plena originalidad, ha constitucionalizado los Colegios profesionales en su artículo 36. Concentrado el análisis en la obligación de colegiación como elemento definidor de los Colegios profesionales, un repaso de la jurisprudencia constitucional habida en la materia descarta que exista contradicción radical entre la norma europea y el precepto constitucional, pero plantea ciertas cuestiones de interés respecto de la articulación entre los ordenamientos constitucional y comunitario.
