As a result of this examination I conclude that even though the duty of charity does not compromise any property rights, it presupposes a minimal core of redistributive justice.El presente trabajo explora una nueva clave de interpretación de la teoría de la propiedad de Locke: el deber de caridad. En primer término, se explicitan sus exigencias y su estatus deóntico, y se reconstruye su basamento justificatorio. Este análisis se ve complementado con el examen de un escrito de 1697 en el que Locke hace una propuesta para reformar la Ley de Pobres entonces vigente.
