Taking into account that the majority of doctrinal works referring to this issue were written some decades ago, it is timely to analyze how this right has developed from the era of the creation of the United Nations until the present.Este artículo pretende realizar un análisis del derecho de veto en el Consejo de Seguridad de Naciones Unidas, comenzando por sus orígenes y las razones que motivaron su creación, para estudiar posteriormente el uso y en múltiples ocasiones el que cabría calificar como “abuso” en la utilización de este privilegio por parte de algunos de los miembros permanentes del Consejo de Seguridad.
