This similarity between the Philippine and the Spanish Codes has been largely ignored although it links the former to a large part of the Ibero-American Law. The aim of this paper is to propose some topics in comparative perspective.El Ccfilip de 1949 posee igual estructura y aproximadamente un 40% de preceptos iguales del Ccesp de 1889, otro tanto modificados (en parte recogiendo jurisprudencia del TS español), y el resto procede de instituciones propias y del Derecho anglonorteamericano. Hoy se ignoran pese a que por ello aquél está relacionado con buena parte del Derecho iberoamericano.
